Jared Janzen

Jared Janzen is an artist, songwriter, and producer whose work masterfully bridges technical precision and heartfelt writing. Inspired by artists of the 1960s and 70s, Jared's music is driven by poetic storytelling, lush harmonies and layered textures; creating a folk blend with percussive fingerstyle guitar which draws his listeners in.

From Fort Collins, CO, Jared has spent over 15 years refining a well-seasoned sound that feels familiar, yet refreshingly new.  Informed by his mountainous home and love of nature, he seeks to ground his music in authenticity and the beauty of the natural world. Starting on drums at a young age, he gravitated towards complex rhythms and playing in rock bands. Transitioning to the guitar and voice, he released 3 albums with his prog-rock group, Blue Taboo. This lead him to develop his alternate tuning and percussive techniques on the acoustic guitar, releasing his debut album and numerous singles and garnering over 225,000 streams. Jared went on to study voice, composition, and business at Berklee College of Music, graduating in 2020.

With over a decade of experience as a performer and recording artist, Jared has toured across the Southwest and West Coast, alongside playing shows internationally in the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal and Cambodia. He also teaches master classes, camps, and private lessons, sharing his love of music with students of all ages. Jared is now broadening his career into production, collaborating with artists around the world, and is releasing his own new music regularly.
